A proud member of

April newsletter

What a busy half term we are having, it has been lovely to welcome parents back in to school and we look forward to seeing more of you.

Phonics Information meeting

Thank you to those parents and carers who attended the phonics meeting for Reception and Year 1 parents after school yesterday. If you were not able to attend the meeting Mrs Lindley will be sending the information home.

SATs Information meeting

On Tuesday 5th April Mrs Butler will be holding a short meeting for Year 2 parents/carers to provide information regarding the upcoming statutory tests. The meeting will take place straight after school at 3.15pm and last approximately half an hour. If you are not able to attend the information will be provided.

Parents consultations

I hope you all appreciated meeting with your child’s class teacher over the last couple of weeks, I know the teachers enjoyed speaking to parents face to face. If you did not make an appointment but would like to speak to your child’s teacher please telephone the school office to arrange an appointment. Miss Clarke will be seeing parents on Thursday 31st March.

4th – 8th April Waterton Academy Trust Charity Week

Waterton Academy Trust Schools will be taking part in a charity week in support of MND charities next week. Each class will take part in an event to raise money for this very worthwhile cause.

Wednesday 6th April will be a special non-uniform day when children are asked to wear something special to them.

Goodbye

After 22 years working for Crofton Infants School, we say goodbye to Mrs Young at the end of next week, when she retires. Mrs Young has been an integral part of the Crofton Infants team for so long I’m not sure what we will do without her. I’m sure you will join with me in thanking Mrs Young for her exceptional support of the school community and we wish her a very happy retirement.

Mrs Warwick will be joining the school after the Easter break to work alongside Mrs Caldow in the office.

Jewellery

This is a polite reminder that children should not be wearing any jewellery for school. The only exception is stud earrings which can be worn but must be removed or covered on PE days.

Can we also ask that children do not bring toys to school. Thank you
