December newsletter

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope you are all well and looking forward to Christmas, it has been a magical two weeks in school with nativities, parties and a visit from Santa!

Reindeer Run

A huge thank you to all those parents who supported the sponsored ‘Reindeer Run’ for Wakefield Hospice. £110 was raised.

Christmas Jumper Day

Christmas jumper day will take place tomorrow Friday 17th December; children can come to school in Christmas jumpers and make a voluntary donation. A just giving page has been set up for your donations to ‘Save the Children’.

We have welcomed some new staff to Crofton Infants over the last few weeks; Mrs Burnell and Miss McAdam have joined our KS1 team. Mrs Burnell will work with Dragonflies and Miss McAdam works across all the KS1 classes. We welcome Mrs Leach who started with us this week as a new lunchtime supervisor.

We will also welcome Mrs Low from January who will be teaching in Dragonflies. Mrs Low will be in school this week to meet the children.

It was lovely to welcome parents in to school last week for our nativities. The performances were filmed for those parents who were not able to attend. We are waiting for the Trust to send the link to the performance, once we have this we will send them out to you.

Thank you to all those parents who bought raffle tickets, the raffle has been drawn and all winners have been notified.

Your child will come home with their attendance sheet this week. Thank you to all our parents who have supported their child’s attendance this term. The school has an attendance target of 96% anything below 90% would be regarded as persistent absence.

PE Kits

We have noticed that some children are not wearing the correct PE uniform, I know this is a busy time of year therefore we have not been insisting on plain white t-shirts but from January we expect all children to be in PE uniform. PE days are not non-uniform days and therefore children need to be in the correct kit. This is either black or navy shorts/joggers/leggings, a plain white t-shirt and a black or navy sweatshirt or hoodie. Children should not come to school in clothes that have logos or patterns. Should any parent have difficulty sourcing the correct kit please see your child’s class teacher.

After school clubs

Due to current Covid guidelines there will not be any after school clubs next half term. We hope to be able to run them after the half term holidays.

Close for Christmas

Just a reminder we will close tomorrow for the Christmas holidays and re-open on Wednesday 5th January (Tuesday 4th is an INSET day)

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy Christmas

Mrs C Holloway
