It has been lovely to see our school full of children once more. As I have walked around, I have seen lots of smiles from children and adults who are happy to be back in the classrooms. The children have settled back in the routines of school very quickly and are obviously enjoying being with their friends again. We are hoping that this return to school is a small step towards a sense of normality in their lives.
Parent Consultations will take place by telephone during the week beginning 22.3.2021. This will give you an opportunity to talk about your child and how they’ve settled back into school. A letter has come out to you this week to make an appointment. If you are not able to speak to your child’s class teacher on the day chosen but would like an appointment please telephone the office to arrange a suitable time.
KS 1 PE
Now that spring is hopefully on the way classes can have more PE lessons outdoors. Classes have two PE lessons each week. Children should come to school in their kit on PE days; they do not need to change. PE days are Year 1 (Tuesday and Thursday) Year 2 (Monday and Wednesday).
Crofton Infants School will be taking part in ‘Red Nose Day’ this year. Children are invited to come to school in non-uniform on Friday 19th March. A just giving page has been set up for any donations. Please visit https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/crofton-inf-21
Individual pupils self isolating
Can I please remind parents that pupils should be self-isolating if they have been in contact with someone who has tested positive or is showing symptoms of Covid 19. If a pupil is self-isolating, school will provide work. The work provided will follow the same work taking place in class to complete at home. Paper copies can be collected from the office, posted out or can be emailed to you.
We would like to remind parents and carers that should your child remain unwell and unable to attend school, you are required to telephone the school office each day that they are absent. We ask that appointments for your child should be booked out of school hours wherever possible. We appreciate that this is not always feasible, therefore should they be required to attend an appointment during school hours, we would ask to have sight of an appointment card/letter. We have an attendance target of 96%, which is in line with the governments ‘good’ attendance target.
The school has three INSET days left this year they are:
Friday 28th May
Monday 7th June
Monday 26th July
I would like to take this opportunity to express our thanks to you for all the support you have given the school over the most recent period of lockdown. We appreciate all you have done to support home learning and understand what a challenging time this has been for all parents and carers.
