Welcome back to the summer term, I hope you all had a good bank holiday weekend. Hopefully the weather will warm up and we can all get outside and enjoy some sunshine.

Summer term

Hopefully we will see the weather warm up over the next few weeks and the children will be spending more time outdoors. With this in mind please send your children in appropriate clothing. This may be hats for the sunshine but also a waterproof coat as the British weather can be unpredictable and we can get a rain shower at any time.

MND Charity Week

A huge thank you to everyone who supported the Trust charity week. The children enjoyed taking part in a variety of sponsored events. The school raised almost £500 for the two MND charities chosen by the Trust. Please see the attached letter from the CEO.

Watertons Still Got Talent

Waterton Academy Trust schools are all taking part in a talent show. Each school will hold auditions for an act to go forward to a whole Trust event in June. This is open to all year 1 and 2 children and can be an individual or a group of children. All acts are welcome to audition we want to see singers, dancers, gymnasts, musicians. Auditions for the act to go forward will be held in school next week.

Transition

As this is the summer term we will start to think about transition. The Year 2 children will be having two transition days to Crofton Junior School, these will be Tuesday 5th and Thursday 7th July. The other classes in school will transition on one of these days.

The Early Years team have organised meetings and transition days for the children new to Reception next year. The new to Reception meeting for parents will be Tuesday 14th June at 5.30pm, more information will follow.

Hello and goodbye

We welcomed Mrs Warwick to school last week. Mrs Warwick will work in the office as administrator alongside Mrs Caldow. Please bear with Mrs Warwick as she settles in to school.

We say goodbye to Mrs Barraclough in Grasshoppers in a couple of weeks as she leaves to take up a new job in finance. Mrs Barraclough has supported many of your children over many years and we will all miss her but wish her well in her new job.
