Governance at Waterton Academy Trust

At Waterton Academy Trust, our vision is to create a collective of schools that work together to deliver excellence throughout; a collaboration where learning is at the heart of all that we do, and children enjoy and engage in a rich and relevant curriculum. We strive to foster a culture of high aspiration for all, and to create an environment where everyone reaches their full potential, regardless of their social, economic or cultural background.
Each school has an Academy Standards Committee (ASC) made up of Governors, who play a key role in delivering excellence.
The Waterton governance model has been developed over time to ensure strong governance is present throughout all levels of the trust. A Scheme of Delegation which sets out the responsibilities of each tier of governance, and the Governance Code of Conduct can be found here;
What is an Academy Standards Committee and what is their role?
Each school within Waterton Academy Trust has an ASC, which is made up of Parent, Community and Staff Governors, who review, monitor and evaluate educational provision to foster an environment where all children reach their full potential.
Governors provide support and challenge to hold the Headteacher to account for the performance of the school. The ASC works together to ensure clarity of vision, values, ethos and strategic direction of the school.
More information on the role of governor or becoming a governor at a school within Waterton Academy Trust can be found here;
